Sylvia and Goodwin Falls

The 2023 Wells Gray trail crew has brushed and cleared deadfalls for the full length of this trail from the Clearwater River to Mahood Lake. The boardwalks are in poor condition and will hopefully be repaired in 2024. The description of this trail starts from the end of the Clearwater River Road and travels up the Mahood River. The River Road has been closed at km 11.4 since a serious washout in 2020, so it is actually easier to get to Sylvia and Goodwin Falls by boating along Mahood Lake from the campground to the east end, then hiking downstream. The trail starts a few hundred metres south of the lake’s outlet into the Mahood River.
